Thames & Associates  is a  service oriented accounting firm providing professional accounting and consulting services, primarily to the healthcare industry, with a strong emphasis in long-term care. The firm is headquartered in Magee, a central Mississippi city just 42 miles south of Jackson and 45 miles north of Hattiesburg. Thames & Associates' central location offers convenient access to the firm's 800 plus clients positioned in six different states. Our second office opened in 2000 at 120 Greenview Drive, Richland, Mississippi-just 4 miles south of downtown Jackson.

Thames & Associates  history dates to 1963 when Jack Thames established a one-person accounting office in Magee, Mississippi. His son, Bill Thames, joined the practice in 1974 after completing a bachelor's degree in accounting. In 1982, the Magee practice merged with a CPA practice in Jackson, Mississippi, offering two locations to serve their clients.  Mr. Thames and his fellow partners built the firm to include more than 25 employees. 1997 saw the Magee, Mississippi office become Thames & Associates - a standalone full service firm. 

Today, Thames & Associates has a staff of 6, including three Certified Public Accountants, serving a variety of clients including Medicaid/Medicare long-term care facilities, out-patient rehabilitation facilities, ICF/MRs, private residential treatment facilities,  physician practices, along with both  individual and small business tax/financial clients. 

 Mr. Thames served on the Mississippi Case Mix Reimbursement Committee as vice-chairman and played an instrumental part in the development of Mississippi's current state plan utilizing a case mix reimbursement system. He currently serves on the Mississippi Medicaid Long Term Care workgroup.
